PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra.

Obtained the Orthopedics and Traumatology specialty by the Hospitals of the University of Coimbra.
Obtained the European Spine Course Diploma – Eurospine Foundation – in 2014 (first Portuguese doctor with the European Spine Surgery Diploma).

Performed several internships of spine surgery abroad, highlighting:

a) Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery. - Queens Medical Centre - Nottingham. (United Kingdom) complemented by the frequency of “Postgraduate Spinal Surgery Teaching Programme”.

b) Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine – St Vincent Hospital – Indianapolis (EUA) – Neurosurgical Unit dedicated to minimally invasive surgery.

c) Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery - Karolinska Institutet – Stockholm, Sweden.
Carried out 18 postgraduate courses in the spine area, 14 of which in European reference centres abroad(The Royal College of Surgeons of England – London, Hospital Val Hebron, Barcelona, Faculty of Medicine – Autonomous University of Barcelona, Kyphon, Leiden University - Netherlands, AO Spine – Oberdorf, Switzerland, Minimal Invasive Surgery Centre , Caceres, Spain, etc.)

Total of 23 works published in national and international magazines.

Presentation of 234 scientific communications at national and international meetings.

Distinction in 8 prizes in scientific works presented at congresses.

Invited lecturer in the area of spine in courses taken at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, at the National Institute of Legal Medicine, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Minho and at the Faculty of Medical Science at Nova University of Lisbon.

Trainer at the European Diploma of Spine Surgery (Eurospine Foundation).
In June 2013, performed for the first time in Portugal the first spinal surgery guided by Neuro navigation with 3D image control.
